Maureen E. Maney, President, is a partner at Hancock Estabrook, LLP, located in Syracuse, NY. Maureen’s practice concentrates on civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels. She has represented hospitals, the trucking industry, financial institutions and individuals in a wide variety of civil cases. Maureen also dedicates a portion of her practice to guardianship proceedings under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law. She is a graduate of Le Moyne College (Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude) and Albany Law School of Union University (magna cum laude), where she was a Managing Editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology, a member of the Justinian Honor Society, the Order of Barristers, and was the recipient of the Dominick Gabrielli Award for Appellate Advocacy. Maureen is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of New York. 

Maureen is active in several professional associations including the New York State Fifth Judicial District Women in the Courts Committee, ALFA International (Steering Committee, Women’s Initiative Practice Group), and the Onondaga County and New York State Bar Associations, for whom she is a frequent lecturer on litigation topics. She is also actively involved in her community, having served on the fundraising committee for the Ronald McDonald House, the Junior League of Syracuse, and the North Area YMCA Board of Managers. For these contributions, Maureen was selected as a recipient of the “40 Under 40” award in 2008. This award recognizes individuals from the Central New York Region who have made significant personal and professional contributions to their communities.

Maureen has been a WBASNY Officer for the past four years, serving first as Recording Secretary, Vice President and President-Elect. She is a past President of the Central New York Chapter of WBASNY (2007-2008). Maureen is honored to continue her service to WBASNY as President.

Maureen lives in Liverpool, New York with her husband Kurt Rosengrant.
