Counsel, Democracy Program Brennan Center for Justice Position: The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is seeking two attorneys, one with at least one year of post-law school experience and one with at least four years of experience, to work in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program. The Program seeks to bring the ideal of representative self-government closer to reality, by eliminating barriers to full and equal political participation and by striving to ensure that public policy and institutions reflect the diverse voices and interests that make for a rich and energetic democracy. Initially both positions will focus on campaign finance reform at the federal, state, and local level, including managing current constitutional litigation defending state and federal campaign finance reforms. Ideally, the positions will commence in July 2010 or very soon afterward. The Brennan Center, an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, is strongly committed to diversity and welcomes applicants of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations, including people who have been previously incarcerated. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package. Applications: Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, and decisions will be made as soon as appropriate candidates are identified. To apply, please compile a cover letter, resume, two writing samples, and the contact information for three references into one document and upload at http://brennancenter.theresumator.com/apply/NVGde4/source:email . If you have difficulty uploading these items as one document, e-mail them to brennancenterjobs@nyu.edu, with “CFR Attorney Democracy Program” in the subject line, after registering in the online system. The Center: The Brennan Center is a non-profit, non-partisan public policy and law institute that focuses on the fundamental issues of democracy and justice. The Center now has approximately 55 staff members, including attorneys, researchers, and public affairs professionals. For more information, visit: http://www.brennancenter.org. |
