The Advisory Committee is a Committee of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, established by Article VII, Section 1(b) of the By-Laws to advise the Board of Directors.

This Committee is comprised of the past Presidents of the Association. The immediate past President is not a member as she serves as a member of the current Board of Directors. The Committee is designed to gather the leadership of the organization into an advisory role to assist the then current President and Board of Directors of the Association to enable them to benefit from the knowledge, advice and counsel of this segment of the membership.

The Chair(s) of this Committee shall be appointed by the President of the Association and has traditionally been the member who served as President immediate in the year preceding the immediate past President. Pursuant to the By-Laws, the Advisory Committee shall receive notices of Board of Directors' meetings and may participate without vote in such meetings. The Committee shall meet in such advisory capacity as requested by the President or Board of Directors.

The Advisory Committee should work closely with the Long Range Planning Committee in developing its goals and objectives and plan of action for the Association.
