The Technology/Internet Committee of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York was formed just as the technology and Internet revolutions were beginning to take off.  The Committee provides WBASNY members with information and guidance on technology in the practice of law, and it provides support when WBASNY is considering adopting new technologies and making major upgrades to its website. WBASNY also consults with the Committee when members or vendors seek to place links on the WBASNY website or ask for permission to republish information from the website or use other WBASNY technology resources.

The Committee also provides support to WBASNY Chapters on website and technology issues, and it serves as a liaison to, and resource for, the Chapters’ technology-related committees.

The Technology/Internet Committee has presented or co-sponsored numerous CLE programs over the years, including “Practicing Law in the New Millennium” (a Convention program), “The Expectation of Privacy and the Attorney-Client Privilege in the Age of the Internet,” and an introductory course for attorneys new to technology entitled Your Clients And Adversaries Are Using the Internet - Shouldn’t You?”

The Committee welcomes participation by chapter representatives and looks forward to working on upcoming WBASNY technology and Internet projects and continuing to assist chapters as they enhance their Internet presence.
