Expanding Our Visions of Justice for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence in the Criminal Justice System

This forum will engage participants in a broad discussion of issues that impact upon our understanding of survivors of gender-based violence. With a specific lens on human trafficking intervention and treatment courts, presentations include an examination of implicit bias and other unconscious phenomena, meaningful evidence-based intervention in the decision-making and interactions of justice-system stakeholders, the impact of trauma on women and girls, and the socialization of men in fostering gender violence. The day-long training will cover the key points that must be addressed in order to provide meaningful intervention, harm reduction, and the elimination of violence in our communities.
