DESCRIPTION:Sex Trafficking Committee presents \n \nHuman Trafficking 101: What You Need to Know from Those Who Know Firsthand \n\nSponsored by\n \n\nJanuary 17\, 2023 \n\n6:00 – 7:30 pm \n\nHuman trafficking in all its manifestations devastates the lives of individuals and destroys families and communities. Although no State can offer a specific count of the victims of human trafficking\, due in part to its clandestine nature\, the magnitude of this crime is clear. What is most important for us to understand about this deadly phenomenon is that there is a vibrant market ready to exploit and profit from these human beings. \n\nIn this one and a half hour CLE\, you will learn legal definitions of human trafficking\, both state and federal\, and what it looks like in real life. Panelists will debunk common myths about the realities of trafficking and discuss how trafficking laws in NYS have evolved since 2007.
