Lisa Noroian

Lisa Noroian, incoming Vice-President, is looking forward to serving WBASNY in her new role as an Officer for the 2023-2024 year.  Ms. Noroian was an attorney with the NYS Unified Court System for over 20 years, including 15 years as Principal Court Attorney to Hon. Carol S. Klein, JFC, AJSC, in Orange County, and also with the Mental Hygiene Legal Service, Appellate Division, 2nd Department.  Ms. Noroian is presently doing work for the Children’s Rights Society, Inc., in Goshen, New York.

During her many years of legal practice, Ms. Noroian practiced in several areas of law, including Family and Matrimonial, Article 81 Guardianship and related issues, Mental Health Law and Social Security Disability.  Early in her career, she worked for legal services programs in Manhattan and in the State of Florida, where she handled a caseload and also coordinated pro bono projects. She has represented clients before state and federal courts, and administrative tribunals, and has handled guardianship cases in the counties of New York’s 9th Judicial District.

A member of WBASNY’s Orange-Sullivan Chapter since 2002, Ms. Noroian served on the board from 2003 to 2010, including as President from 2008 to 2009, and her second tenure on the board began in 2022.  She received the Chapter’s Distinguished Attorney Award in 2016.  In serving her Chapter, Ms. Noroian believes in supporting membership, promoting involvement and leadership, providing networking and program options, and fostering camaraderie. She also serves on the board of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties Foundation.

Ms. Noroian has enjoyed serving in multiple WBASNY Committee leadership roles over the years.  She was a WBASNY CLE Co-Chair for approximately 15 years, a WBASNY Wellness Committee Co-Chair since 2019 and also served as the WBASNY Newsletter Chair this past year.  She was a Co-Chair of Convention 2010 and thereafter a member of WBASNY’s Permanent Convention Committee for a number of years.

Ms. Noroian has also been involved in various volunteer endeavors in her community.  She was active for many years in Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, serving as her daughter’s troop leader, and as a chair of two service unit committees.  She also enjoyed participating in volunteer activities at her daughter’s schools.

Ms. Noroian grew up in Orange County, New York.  Upon graduating from the Florida State University College of Law, she practiced law in Florida before returning to New York.  She currently lives in Orange County with her husband and daughter.
