In November of 2016 Jacqueline P. Flug was appointed to serves as the General Counsel and Vice President of Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, a public benefits corporation. Prior to that Ms. Flug served as the General Counsel to the New York State Liquor Authority. Ms. Flug served as legal counsel for all licensing and regulatory matters for retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers of alcoholic beverages in New York State. Ms. Flug oversaw all regulatory prosecutions, litigation and legislative matters concerning the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law. Ms. Flug is an expert regarding internet sales of alcoholic beverages and frequently lectures upon the best practices of regulatory compliance.
Prior to her tenure with the Authority, Ms. Flug served in the Office of the Mayor as the Administrator for the Assigned Counsel Plan for the Appellate Division First Department, a program that provides private counsel for indigent criminal defendants. Ms. Flug began her legal career in 2001 as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County where she prosecuted violent felonies and vehicular homicides.
Ms. Flug has served as WBASNY President-Elect, two terms as WBASNY Vice President, one term as WBASNY Corresponding Secretary and two terms as WBASNY Recording Secretary. She co-chaired WBASNY’s Reproductive Rights Committee and served on WBASNY’s Criminal Law, Employment Law and Legislative committees. Ms. Flug is a past President of the Bronx Women’s Bar Association and currently serves as the Vice President of the Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert (JALBCA).
Ms. Flug serves on the Judicial Hearing Officer Screening Committee for the Appellate Division, Second Department and the Central Screening Committee for the Appellate Division, First Department. She served as a member of the New York County Lawyer’s Education Committee and the New York City Bar Association’s Criminal Courts Committee and proudly served as a coach for Bronx Middle School I.S. 145 in the Thurgood Marshall Junior High School Mock Trial Competition. Additionally, Ms. Flug served on the Board of the National Organization for Women – NYC.
Ms. Flug received her Juris Doctor cum laude from New York Law School where she served as Executive Topics Editor of the New York Law School Journal of Human Rights. Ms. Flug received a B.A. in American Studies from SUNY Geneseo.
Ms. Flug is married to David Kronenberg, an attorney practicing elder law, and is the proud mother of Abigail and Rachel Kronenberg.
