Teresa R. Nuccio

Teresa R. Nuccio, incoming Recording Secretary, is a Special Education Impartial Hearing Officer with the New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings. Teresa hears cases arising from due process complaints filed on behalf of students attending public and private schools within the City of New York seeking special education services, tuition reimbursement and review of disciplinary determinations against students with special needs. Ms. Nuccio has served as the Treasurer of the Staten Island Women’s Bar Association.

Ms. Nuccio obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and obtained her M.Ed. from Hunter College in General and Special Education with an emphasis on concomitant learning and emotional disabilities. She received the Women of Distinction award from the Staten Island Chapter of New York State Women, Inc.

Prior to joining O.A.T.H. in the summer of 2022, Ms. Nuccio was a principal law clerk to a Supreme Court Justice, focusing on Municipal Tort Liability, Guardianship and Foreclosure. Before entering public service, Teresa was a partner in a law firm handling plaintiff personal injury cases in New York City, Long Island and the United States District Courts in New York and New Jersey.
