Description of event: Join us for an exclusive screening of “Yours in Freedom, Bill Baird” the man who successfully challenged the U.S. law banning the distribution of contraceptives to unmarried people. Rebecca Cammisa’s powerful documentary focuses on Baird’s six-decade career as a reproductive justice advocate and activist, the narrative juxtaposes his efforts with that of burgeoning Arkansas organizer, Jada Portillo. Bill Baird holds three United States Supreme Court victories for reproductive rights. Baird v. Eisenstadt legalized birth control for all Americans on March 22, 1972. This landmark right-to-privacy case is the foundation for Roe v. Wade.
