Session 3: “Basics of a Family Offense Trial”

November 13, 2024, from 1pm-2pm

This session will discuss how to conduct a fact-finding hearing on family offenses, including the standard of law and burden of proof, types of evidence commonly used in family offense trials, handling pro se litigants/victims, and potential dispositions. We will also briefly cover the overlap between a family offense case and a pending criminal case arising out of the same allegations.
