Amanda Rieben, Treasurer of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, (“WBASNY”), is a Partner in the Family and Matrimonial Law department at Abrams Fensterman, LLP, working out of the firm’s White Plains office. Ms. Rieben assists clients in all areas of family and matrimonial law including, without limitation, divorce, legal separation, custody, support and family offense matters. She also assists clients with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Immediately prior to joining Abrams Fensterman, Ms. Rieben was the Director of the Walk-In Legal Clinic, (the “Clinic”), a program at the Pace Women’s Justice Center she helped develop and led for four years. The Clinic provides pro bono legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse. Prior to this, Ms. Rieben was an associate at one of the largest family law firms in Connecticut. Earlier in her career, she also worked with victims of domestic violence and represented parents in child protective proceedings in New York County Family Court.
Ms. Rieben earned her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School and her Bachelor of Arts Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Colby College. She also was a general course student at the London School of Economics. She is admitted to practice in the States of New York and Connecticut.
Ms. Rieben is concluding her term as a WBASNY Vice President. She is a past Past-President of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association, (“WWBA”), a chapter of WBASNY, having also served as a State Director, President Elect and Recording Secretary of the WWBA. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the WWBA Families, Children and the Courts Committee, and the WWBA Annual Dinner Committee. From the fall 2021-spring 2023, Ms. Rieben served as legal liaison on the Management Board of the St. Luke’s Parish School in Darien, Connecticut.
In 2023 and 2024, New York Super Lawyers designated Ms. Rieben a Rising Star in New York Family Law. Each year, no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor. Ms. Rieben was also selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer in Family Law in 2025.
