A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, she is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts, and in the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Licata is on the Bronx Surrogate Court Part 36 Guardian Ad Litem panel and recently became a certified Mediator. She started co-mediating on the Family Court Mediation Panel with an aim to help facilitate problem solving for families through effective communication as an alternative to litigation.

Ms. Licata understands that her role as an attorney goes beyond her practice and has sought to serve her community in various capacities. As a past President and past Vice President of the Bronx Women’s Bar Association, she remains an active member serving as a delegate and advisor to the board. At the state level, she is a co-chair of the Wellness Committee for the Women’s Bar Association of New York State (WBASNY), where she has been instrumental in planning a variety of programs on women’s wellness. Additionally, she is an active member of the Brooklyn Law School Women’s Networking Circle and was recently appointed as a board member for the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Association. She is a proponent of mentorship as a means of providing thoughtful and insightful guidance to new lawyers, as well as law students, thereby enhancing the quality of the legal profession. She is a mentor for an attorney on the Bronx Assigned Counsel Panel and also mentors a 2nd year Brooklyn Law School student. She also anticipates working with the Appellate Division First Department Office of Attorneys for Children on a training program for assigned counsel members, supporting their mission of ensuring excellent legal representation for children and families.

Ms. Licata is a dedicated strength trainer and enjoys kickboxing, walking, reading, photography, cooking, bird watching and sailing on the Hudson River with her husband. She has two children, one who lives in Spain and the other in Seattle Washington, so travel is a wonderful part of her life. Her traveling “wilbury” children have provided her with an opportunity to travel to China, Italy, Spain and Washington state, and she anticipates that there will be more travel in her future.
