New York, NY, Thursday, March 26, 2026 – The Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) proudly congratulates the Honorable E. Danielle Jose-Decker on her appointment as the Administrative Judge for the Capital Region’s Third Judicial District, encompassing Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.
The appointment was announced by Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Zayas, and was made in consultation with Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson and Appellate Division, Third Department Presiding Justice Elizabeth A. Garry.
Judge Jose-Decker’s remarkable career and exceptional leadership skills have earned her this well-deserved appointment. She was elected in November 2020 as Sullivan County’s first female County Court Judge. She also presides as Surrogate, Acting Family Court Judge and as an Acting Supreme Court Justice. Since October 2024, in her role as Supervising Judge, she led development of Centralized Arraignment Part in Albany and Sullivan counties, and oversaw 118 Town and Village Courts in the Third Judicial District.
Judge Jose-Decker is a member of WBASNY chapters including the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC), and the Capital District Women’s Bar Association. She is a recipient of WBAOSC’s Distinguished Attorney Award. After earning her law degree from Albany Law School, she joined the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. She then practiced at Greenwald Law Offices in Goshen as a Senior Associate before co-founding Ricciani & Jose, LLP in Monticello.
Judge Jose-Decker serves as co-chair of the Third Judicial District’s Gender Fairness Committee, as Secretary and Executive Board Member of the New York State County Court Judges’ Association, and sits on the New York State Bar Association’s President’s Committee on Access to Justice. She is a past president of the Sullivan County Bar Association.
