WBASNY Applauds Governor Cuomo for Proposing Passage of an Equal Rights Amendment as Part of his 2020 State of the State Agenda

January 3, 2020, New York, New York.

The passage of an ERA is a priority for WBASNY and its mission. Gender bias is pervasive in our social structure. Advancing constitutional protections against discrimination and ensuring equity in the administration of justice has the organization’s full support. The adoption of an ERA in the State of New York is long overdue. Even in 2020, constitutional guarantees are needed at both the State and Federal level to prevent gender discrimination from impeding the full participation of women in the law and society.
